This article was written by Xinteng's technical team. We're one of the pogo pin pad manufacturers on this list, and we ranked ourselves first. We've tried to describe the other suppliers accurately, but you should weigh that accordingly. All test figures come from our own lab records or were shared with us by customers.
Pogo pin pads look deceptively simple. Anyone who's sourced them seriously knows they're not.
Two pads sitting side by side - one with 0.3μm soft gold plating, one with 0.5μm cobalt-hardened gold - are visually indistinguishable. We ran an in-house test pairing the same batch of spring loaded pogo pin connectors against both plating types and cycling them 50,000 times. The soft gold pads climbed from roughly 25mΩ to nearly 50mΩ in contact resistance. The cobalt-hardened gold pads stayed at 28mΩ throughout, with no measurable drift. Same appearance, less than 30% price difference - and completely different outcomes once these pogo pin contact pads reach production.
This article covers the Chinese pogo pin pad suppliers we consider most representative of the market right now. We've visited a fair number of factories over the years, and we also hear from customers switching suppliers - understanding what competitors are actually doing is part of how we stay current.
1: Dongguan Xinteng Electronics Co., Ltd. (That's Us)
Since we wrote this review, let's start with an honest account of what we are and what we're not.
We specialize in custom pogo pin contact pads and pogo pin connectors. Our factory is in Dongguan. We've been in this product category since 2011 - early on, most of our work was industrial test clients. From around 2017, as demand from wearables and medical monitoring devices picked up, we put serious development time into magnetic pogo pin charging pads and haven't stopped since.
Where we're genuinely competitive. Custom lead time is the main one. The standard quoted turnaround for custom pogo pin pad samples in China is 21 days minimum. We get this down to 5–14 days in most cases. The reason isn't faster machinery - it's that our engineers start every custom request by asking how much of an existing design can be adapted, rather than whether a new mold needs to be cut. That question, asked first, is what shows up in the delivery date.
Magnetic pogo pin contact pad tuning is the other area where we've put in real work. Getting the balance between magnetic pull force and spring compression right in an actual product is genuinely tricky: too much magnet force and the plunger gets over-compressed, accelerating spring fatigue; too little and alignment becomes unreliable in real use. Our production units run at 20mΩ or under in contact resistance, with batch-to-batch variation held within ±5mΩ. Those numbers come from our outgoing inspection records, not from a spec sheet.
On waterproofing: we can integrate silicone gasket seals directly into the pogo pin pad structure, supporting IP67 and IP68 ratings without customers needing a separate sealing supplier. This isn't standard across Chinese pogo pin pad manufacturers - a lot of them supply the pin body only and leave sealing to you.
Customizable spring force runs 50gf to 500gf. Plating options from 0.3μm soft gold to 1.0μm cobalt-hardened hard gold. Pin pitch coverage 0.5mm to 5.0mm. Minimum order 50 pieces, including custom configurations. Certifications: ISO 9001, RoHS compliant, REACH compliant.

2.Top-Link
High-volume delivery is their main strength. Their factory is in Longhua, Shenzhen, and production capacity is larger than ours. Standard 0.8mm and 1.0mm pitch pogo pin connectors are stocked continuously, and they can hit 5-day lead times on urgent orders - that's fast for this industry. If your product is in stable production, specs are fully locked, and you're placing regular quarterly replenishment orders, this supplier is worth getting a competitive quote from.
One customer who came to us from them mentioned they'd asked about changing a pin pitch. The answer was a three-week lead time estimate and some uncertainty about feasibility. That's not a knock on the factory - it's an accurate picture of what happens when a high-volume standard parts operation gets a non-standard request. Customization capability requires a different engineering infrastructure, and factories built around one thing tend not to have invested heavily in the other.
Certifications: ISO 9001 / REACH
3.CCP(Taiwan)
Industrial test probes are what this factory focuses on - not charging connectors, not consumer electronics.
Their customers are mainly ICT in-circuit test and AOI fixture builders. Spring probe dimensional tolerance down to ±0.01mm is achievable, which is genuinely competitive for specialist test probe work. We've reviewed some of their technical documentation; their spring force consistency specs are tighter than what you'd find at a general-purpose pogo pin pad supplier.
Their product line is concentrated in test probes. Magnetic pogo pin charging pads aren't a focus, and waterproofing integration isn't in their wheelhouse. If your pogo pin contact pad requirement is for a bed-of-nails fixture or precision industrial spring probes, contact them.
Certifications:ISO 9001 / REACH
4.CFE(DongGuan)
This factory has some visibility in the medical device supply chain, primarily because their certification documentation is unusually complete. ISO 13485 is in place. Among Chinese pogo pin pad manufacturers, that's a short list - it's not a cheap or easy certification to maintain, and the ones who bother are self-selecting for a certain level of quality system discipline.
We've spoken with several customers developing IVD equipment and wearable medical devices who had this supplier on their compliance shortlist for exactly that reason.
Product customization capability is mid-range. Communication is reasonably responsive. Sample lead times are 15–20 days, which is slower than us and can create real schedule pressure on tight development programs. If your product has a hard ISO 13485 requirement right now and our own certification hasn't come through yet, this is a credible option to bridge that gap.
Certifications: ISO 13485 , ISO 9001
5.Delta Precision
Price is the obvious advantage here. Standard pogo pin pad unit pricing from this factory is among the lowest we've seen across serious quotes.
Their offering is mainly soft gold plating, limited spec options, and minimal customization. For entry-level consumer electronics where budget is the primary driver, insertion frequency is low (once or twice a day at most), and the product lifecycle is under two years - their pricing is genuinely attractive and the product will hold up for the use case.
Batch-to-batch consistency is the documented shortcoming. That comes from former customers, not speculation. We'd recommend tightening your incoming inspection sampling rate if you work with them. Not a fit for high-frequency applications or anything requiring waterproofing or extended service life.

Which Supplier Makes Sense for Your Project
If you're still in development with specs not yet locked down, find a factory willing to do an engineering review before quoting - not one that's purely sales-driven. The cost of reworking specs two or three times through the development cycle is considerably higher than whatever you'd save on sample pricing.
If you're in stable production with locked specs and the main task is replenishment,Xinteng and CFE are more competitive in terms of delivery cycle and order consistency, and their prices might also be better. It is advisable to obtain a genuine quote from them.
For medical devices or prod ucts targeting EU or US markets, certification paperwork is a hard requirement at the audit stage. Confirm it early, get original copies, and don't wait until your customer's supplier audit to find out a certificate has expired or the scope doesn't cover what you're actually buying. Our ISO 13485 is expected by end of this year - if your launch timeline is before that, Supplier D is the more certain option right now.
If you're unsure about plating spec, tell your supplier the use case - daily insertion count, expected product life, whether there's a waterproofing requirement - and let their engineer make a recommendation. Spring force, pad size, and pin pitch are all matched parameters; they're not chosen independently, and an engineer who knows the system will get you to the right spec faster than working through datasheets on your own.
FAQ
How do you pick the right spring force for a pogo pin pad?
Two things to balance: contact reliability and mechanical stress on the PCB. Too light and vibration or thermal cycling will cause contact resistance to wander; too heavy and the pads, traces, and substrate beneath take cumulative stress that can cause pad delamination over high cycle counts.
For consumer electronics charging interfaces, 100–200gf covers most cases. Industrial equipment can go higher. Medical wearables sometimes specify lower force specifically to reduce pressure on skin or tissue. If you don't have a target, give your supplier the product type and expected insertion count and ask for their recommendation. Spring force isn't a standalone decision - it's designed in relation to pad size and pitch, so an engineer familiar with the system will land on something better than a guess from a table.
How long should I budget for custom pogo pin contact pad samples?
Standard pitch with a plating or spring force change: 7 days is achievable at a well-organized factory. Changing pin pitch or array layout: 14 days is a reasonable plan, with 21 days possible if new tooling is required.
Worth asking before you place a prototype order: does the factory use the same tooling for prototypes and production, or different? Some factories charge a prototype tooling fee and then charge again for production tooling - these are two separate molds and two separate bills. If your program has a short runway between prototype and production, get this clarified in writing upfront. Also worth asking: if there are minor spec changes between prototype and production, does the factory treat that as a change order on the original or a new order entirely? Answers vary and the difference matters.
What's the actual difference between soft gold and hard gold plating, and when does it matter?
Our own test data : after 50,000 insertion cycles, 0.3μm soft gold contact pads climbed from 25mΩ to nearly 50mΩ in contact resistance. The 0.5μm cobalt-hardened gold pads stayed at 28mΩ. In high-frequency use, that gap shows up as device instability.
Practical rule: if insertion frequency exceeds about 5 times per day, specify hard gold. For wearables that charge once daily with a 3-year product life - roughly 1,000–1,500 total cycles - soft gold holds up fine and costs less. For industrial test fixtures, robot charging stations, or charging pillars that cycle dozens or hundreds of times per day, hard gold is required, and the thickness needs to be written into the purchase spec explicitly. Writing "gold plating" without a thickness is not a spec.
We're sourcing pogo pin pads from China for the first time. What does the process actually look like?
Contact resistance first, using four-wire (Kelvin) measurement. Initial values should fall within whatever the supplier committed to in writing. Visual inspection under 2–5x magnification - look specifically for deep scratches that expose the nickel underlayer, and for uneven plating coverage. Spring force: spot-check a sample from each batch; cross-reference against the supplier's outgoing inspection data if they provide it.
For larger incoming quantities, set an AQL sampling standard rather than inspecting everything - just make sure the sample size is large enough to be statistically meaningful. The first shipment from any new supplier warrants a higher sample rate. Once you've built confidence in a factory's consistency you can dial it back. If two consecutive batches show the same type of defect, go to the factory. A pattern like that is usually a process issue - incoming materials or production, not random variation - and it won't resolve through returns alone.
