A: This is a common problem with cameras. Typically, a low-profile connector structure is custom-designed, and a flat design is also possible. If necessary, the connector can be "embedded" within the housing, allowing the pins to slightly protrude for contact, thus reducing the overall thickness.
Q: If the gold plating is too thin, will it cause poor contact after six months of use?
A: Camera signal cables carry low current, but require stable contact. If the plating is too thin, it can easily wear through and oxidize. As a rule of thumb, we prefer a thick gold top layer with a nickel base layer to ensure long-term stability.
Q: Will the high temperature during lens module soldering cause the connector to deform?
A: Whether this will cause connector deformation depends on the plastic material. If standard P-plastic is not heat-resistant enough, we recommend choosing a high-temperature-resistant material that can withstand 260°C reflow soldering.
Q: Is there interference or noise in the lens signal cable transmission?
A: This indicates poor shield grounding or an improper pin layout. High-speed signals are best arranged using a differential layout, with an outer shielding shell or nickel-plated cover. When debugging MIPI signals, image noise is immediately noticeable if the shielding is not properly connected.
