RM-1484 is a 26-pin pogo pin magnetic connector. Male side has the magnets and pogo pins; female side has the matching pads and polarity markers. When the two halves get within about 5 mm of each other, the magnets snap them into place and the pins make contact. No fumbling with alignment, no bent pins.

We built this with three different spring forces across the 26 pins because not every pin does the same job. The low-force pins are for signal lines. The higher-force pins handle power and ground. That way you don't waste spring life on signals that barely carry any current.

This thing is rated for 80,000 mating cycles and pushes up to 5A total. We see it most often on drones, underwater equipment, shared power banks, and anything where the user needs to connect or disconnect in a hurry without looking.

The Pogo pin magnetic male connector features a 26-pin design, utilizing three different types of Pogo pins, including pin-type solderable connectors. The connector's length is 74.39mm, width is 11.69mm, and height is 11.69mm.

The matching Pogo pin female connector uses gold-plated C 6801 brass Pogo pins and halogen-free insulating plastic. It has passed a 48-hour salt spray test, withstands temperatures up to 260℃, and can operate within a temperature range of -25℃ to +80℃.

FAQ

 

Q: Will the magnets lose strength over time?

A: N52 NdFeB magnets lose about 1–2% of their flux per decade under normal conditions. The real killer is heat. If your device runs above 80°C internally, N52 will start to degrade. For high-temp applications we switch to samarium cobalt (SmCo), which handles 150°C and higher. Tell us your max internal temp and we'll spec the right magnet.

Q: What happens if debris gets on the magnetic face?

A: Iron filings and metal dust will stick to the magnets. If your environment is dirty - machine shops, construction sites - we can add a silicone shroud around the magnet face or spec a recessed magnet design that doesn't sit flush. For clean environments like medical or office, it's not an issue.

Q: Can I use this if I have both power and USB 2.0 signals?

A: Yes, but keep them separated. Route your D+/D- signal pairs through the low-force pins (1–8) and keep power on the high-force pins (19–26). We also recommend placing a ground pin between power and data to reduce crosstalk. Send us your schematic and we'll mark up a pin assignment that works.

Q: How much magnet force do I actually need?

A: It depends on how much the cable gets tugged. For a desk charger where the cable just sits there, 600 gf is plenty. For a wearable that gets snagged on door handles, you might want 1,000 gf so it doesn't disconnect accidentally. For a breakaway medical cable, you want 200–300 gf so it releases before it pulls the device off a cart. We'll ask about your use case and recommend a force range.

Q: Is waterproofing possible?

A: Sure, but it needs to be customized or choose one of our waterproof series models (the magnetic connectors of SM100 and SM200). If customized, we will mold the silicone gasket into the female socket housing and make it match the compression lip on the male socket. We have achieved the IPX7 waterproof rating using this method. Customization requires re-molding the mold; the budget is between 1,800 and 4,500 US dollars, depending on the complexity of the seal.

Q: I don't have drawings. I only have a competitor's sample. Can you copy it?

A: We can reverse-engineer it. Mail us the sample. We scan it, measure critical dimensions, check the magnet polarity and pin assignment, then send you a drawing for approval. Turnaround is about a week. We don't copy patents, but if it's a generic magnetic pogo connector, we can build you an equivalent or improved version.
